Auteur: Daniela Druguș
Abstract: The educational offer of high academic level, the tendency to excellence in the educational act and in management, the lines of study in three languages (Romanian, English, French) at « Grigore T. Popa » University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Iasi attracted, due to increasing international promotion, an inflow of students of over 50 nationalities, both from the EU and the EEA spaces and from the extra-community space, ethnic and non-ethnic Romanians. This paper is concerned with the multicultural phenomenon generated by these ethnic groups, through their presence in the city and the academic community of Iasi, and based on a descriptive phenomenological analysis it attempts to identify the best ways to integrate these groups socially, culturally and academically. The essential idea is that the pure ethnical multiculturalism of the groups should recede when the groups play a civilizational part, and should assume European identity. This effort must be made both by the community and by the transitory multicultural groups.
